Objective:  To provide clear guidelines as to who may use the King of Glory Lutheran Church facilities, the types of events that are appropriate for facility use, and the responsibilities associated with use of the facility.  This policy is to be implemented when a request to use the facility is outside of King of Glory Lutheran’s normal worship services and events and is to be used in conjunction with King of Glory Lutheran Church’s Marriage Ceremonies Policy.

 

Functional Guide:

·      Facilities may be used by members of King of Glory Lutheran Church for the following:

           o   Weddings and associated events, including bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, receptions

           o   Funerals and funeral receptions

           o   Baptism receptions

           o   Confirmation receptions

           o   Birthday/Anniversary celebrations

           o   Baby showers

           o   Non-profit events by ministries that  King of Glory Lutheran Church supports financially

           o   Other events, as requested, which have approval by the Church Council

·      No tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs may be used on the property of King of Glory Lutheran Church

·      No animals will be allowed in the Church facility (Exceptions will be made for service animals)

·      If the King of Glory sound system or video (video presentations) equipment is to be use, the Church office will appoint the appropriate person and an additional fee charged (see below)

·      The grand piano in the sanctuary is not intended to be moved

·      Moving of any church furnishings or fixtures in the sanctuary must have prior approval

·      No push pins or tape to be used on the pews, woodwork or walls

·      Tables may not be taken from the premises, chairs may be lent out with prior approval from the Church office

·      The facility may not be used for any person and/or business whose intentions are to make a profit by the sale of goods and/or services to those in attendance

·      The facility may not be used for events that are in conflict with King of Glory’s Constitution/By-Laws

·      Requests by a member of King of Glory Lutheran to use the facility must be made through the Church office with approval by the Church Council, in consultation with the Pastor

·      Requests by a non-member of King of Glory Lutheran Church must be made through the Church office with approval by the Church Council, in consultation with the Pastor

A member of King of Glory Lutheran Church will have priority over a non-member if the request, by the individual, for facility use has been properly filed with the church office

 

Responsibility of using the King of Glory Lutheran Church facility:

It is the responsibility of those using the facility to be respectful of the facility by returning the facility to its original condition.  This is accomplished by the following:

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

·      Completing the cleaning checklist provided by the Church office

·      Communicating with a member of the Church Council when the event is completed for a final walk through inspection

 

Charges for use of the King of Glory Lutheran Church facilities:

·      Organist/Pianist for event                                                         $ 250.00                        $ 250.00

·      Sound and/or Video presentation services                                 $ 100.00                        $ 100.00

 

All damages caused by those in attendance of the event being held must be repaid by those responsible for the event.

 

By signing this document, you are certifying that you will follow the guidelines of this policy and be responsible for any damages to the facility.
